The Alain Locke Seminar is a regular virtual event series that showcases cutting-edge research in African American history, politics, biography, and culture. Through book talks with authors and panel discussions with Oxford faculty and students, the events programme highlights the Vere Harmsworth Library’s Alain Locke Collection holdings and the research on African American history and culture taking place at the RAI.

The Locke Seminar is named after the first African American Rhodes Scholar, and made possible through the generous support of the Association of American Rhodes Scholars (AARS).
